It’s safe to say that I wouldn’t have wanted to end off my wedding season any other way than with Danielle & Alan’s elegant fall Kelowna wedding at Bottega. I was pretty much jaw dropped from start to finish.
Danielle and her bridesmaids got ready in the library at Bottega, while Alan and his groomsmen got ready at his house before heading over to the venue to see his beautiful bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle. So much gorgeous filled the room while Calista did their makeup and the girls from Antidote Hair rocked their magic. Danielle’s bridesmaids & her Mom helped her put on her wedding dress, and the room was absolutely lit up from this stunning bride. Her earrings were the finishing touches and we were ready for such a warm, elegant ceremony.
Seeing Alan’s excitement as he walked down the aisle, along with his reaction as Danielle and her dad made their way towards him, was beyond perfect. Their son, Cooper, looking as handsome as ever, led the way for the bride in his wagon ride. These two shared their vows surrounded by the people who are closest to them, slid on their wedding rings, and said I do! Leaving with huge picture perfect smiles!! We then met up with all of their family for some family photos in the trees.
An October wedding wouldn’t be complete without finding the most stellar fall colours to compliment such an awesome bridal party. We hopped in the limo and adventured down to a river side. The dark dresses/tuxes mixed SO good with the yellows/oranges. We then went down the steep river bank to get right on the waterside. I’m pretty damn grateful that I have couples that trust in adventuring to some pretty crazy places on their wedding day, because it was so worth it once I saw the frame of of them with the river flowing beyond them, surrounded by the fall trees on both sides. Shooting this scene was more than perfect! Afterwards we headed back to Bottega for an intimate time with Danielle and Alan in the forest trees alongside an old rustic piano. So I know I said the last location was perfect, but this one was right up there too for all different reasons! Capturing the true love between these two seems to always leave me breathless & excited.
Their reception was decorated with whites/blacks along with gold accents that went so well with the warm string lights laid out along the ceiling, making the atmosphere SO awesome. Jenny McAlpine did a beautiful job as always! The night started with delicious food, of course from Jason Harper, followed by speeches that brought tears backed by smiles and laughs! Danielle and Alan then hit the dance floor for their first dance as the band played in the background. And let me say, WOW, this first dance had all the feels for me.. These newlyweds with everyone behind them topped off with the darling lights above. This proved that dance photos can be JUST as stunning as the unique photos we go on location for. Danielle then danced with her Dad, and Alan with his Mom. After this, everyone hit the dance floor for one awesome night ahead of great music from both Les and Airwaves Music and the Paul Filek band.
This day stole my heart, two truly perfect people for each other in so many ways, tying the knot for forever. It’s like I saw this whole day build up, as I’ve captured their engagement photos, maternity session, baby photos, and now their special day. I can’t say Thank You enough times to Danielle and Alan for having me photograph these moments in their life, I’m honoured each and every single time. You two are awesome!
