The Cove Lakeside Resort Wedding | B&A

September 16, 2015

A had a pretty good feeling that Brett & Ashley’s wedding at The Cove Lakeside Resort was going to be a lot of stunning..I definitely wasn’t wrong.
We started the day with pure bluesky sun light beaming through the windows as Brett and Ashley got ready in their hotel rooms. Once her gorgeous wedding dress was on and dad had walked in, we headed to The Cove Lakeside Resort for the ceremony where their lovely officiant Barbara Cragg was waiting for us. I think Brett’s face said it all when Ashley and her dad walked down the isle.  So many excited smiles as these two said I do and tied the knot!
We then grabbed the full wedding party and headed into Gellatly Nut Farm. In the farm, they were surrounded by the most beautiful lush green trees as the sun poked through the leaves. We could have stayed in here all day, But we had to get back to freshen up before supper! The reception area was decorated beautifully, what else would you expect from Bethany and her team at Peace of Mind Weddings. The food was absolutely delicious along with so many great speeches. After supper I had seen the sun setting, yet this wasn’t an ordinary sunset. All of the smoke from the Washington wildfires was making its way into the Okanagan.. let’s just say it made quite an entrance that I used to my fullest advantage. I grabbed the two of them and headed to the lakeside to capture this smoke filled landscape as the pink sunset was in the sky. Timing is everything, As an hour later the Okanagan was filled with a thick haze of smoke.
Afterwards we made our way into the dance hall where Lasting Impression’s had draped the room to make this area so stunning! Ashley and Brett then had a hilarious round of the shoe game before their lovely first dance. From here it was the best of friends & family, awesome music from Dj Superdave all night long, and of course a packed dance floor from start to finish to end off a perfect day!
You two were awesome, from chasing waterfalls for your engagement session to rockin’ a one of a kind sunset, It was an honour to be your wedding photographer. Thank you both so much for choosing me to capture it all!
